VHS machines are on their way out the door in most homes now that DVDs and Tivo have taken over. But they can find new life in an unlikely place - the kitchen! There is a great modification you can make to turn your VHS into a toaster.
Check out this video to get you inspired to hack your old VHS into your new toaster.

There are step-by-step instructions available on Instructables. You'll need, of course, an old VHS machine and a toaster that you're not fond of anymore. You'll also need some sheet metal, which is why that Slim-Fast reference. The creator used steel drink cans for this part of the project, such as what the diet drink comes in. With these materials and a few household tools like pliers and a screwdriver, you're set to transform recycling bin-bound gadgets into a novel way to make breakfast. Just make sure you place your plate in the right spot to catch the flying bread.
