Featured AltUse Partner - The Daily Ocean

"The Daily Ocean is one person's mission to see how much trash they can collect from their local beach in 365 non-consecutive days. I collect it, weigh it, take some pictures of what I find, the trash and the beautiful things I see while out there, and post it all at www.thedailyocean.blogspot.com"

MY IDEA - THE GOALS OF MY PROJECT

I asked myself this question - How many pounds of trash could I collect from the beach if I did it for one year?

I'm in the process of finding out. Here are the guidelines I set for myself.
  1. Go to the same beach every time - Life Guard Station 26, Ocean Park, Santa Monica
  2. Collect trash for 20 min. at a time only
  3. Take pictures of what the beach looked like on that day, some of the trash I find, and some of the inspiration too.
  4. Weigh the trash and keep a tally of how many pounds.
  5. In a perfect world, I'd have time to go everyday. But going for 365 non-consecutive days will have to do.
